Many of the items that women from the US are giving are small pieces of Jewelry...bracelets and Necklaces.  Some are items that women have had that have some meaning attached, some are newly made or purchased with a meaning in mind.

Here are some examples:

Item:  Handmade wire and bead green cross   Note attached:  When I was a little girl my grandmother gave me a green cross as a symbol of hope and faith.  Whenever I looked at it I would feel loved and cared about.  I made this green cross for you for the same reasons:  to remind you to  always have hope and faith and so that you will always remember that you are loved.

Item: Butterfly pin       Note attached:  This pin was passed down hrough my family.  Butterflys have always been a symbol for us...the wings giving us the ability to fly away when we needed to.  My mom and I decided to give this one to you, so that you could have wings too.

Item: Bracelet       Note attached,:  When I saw this bracelet, I thought about how the different colors of beads worked together to create someting of  beauty.  I think we are like that too, our lives are so different, but together we can create beauty in the world. Much love to you.
